Disclaimer and Terms of Use

The Necessary Disclaimer:

Ok, let me get the basics out of the way first. All the information on this site is intended for your general knowledge only, and is not to be taken as a substitute for medical advice or treatment.

Whilst I do my best to make sure the information I share is derived from current and credible sources, and is as accurate as possible, human error happens; I therefore cannot warrant that the information on this site is always true and correct. Additionally, this blog is in a perpetual state of transition, and the information I publish today, may not be valid or accurate tomorrow; so I do not take responsibility for any errors or omissions, or for the results obtained from the use of such.

While I’m a woman with a health science degree and over 12 years of professional and personal nutrition, health and fitness experience up my sleeve, my views are just that – my views.

To be perfectly clear, my intention is to do NO harm, in anyway, what so ever. I do not intent to injure, defame, or libel. Remember, all information on this site is of my personal opinion, and while I might share info and advise, I do not in any way counsel. In all circumstances I ask you, the reader, to think for yourself, make your own judgements and make your own informed decisions, as I do in my life. What I write on my blog is not to be taken as “absolute truth”, “fact” or anything else as extreme (and If you know me you’ll know that I do not believe there is an ultimate truth in such information anyway, just shades of grey that shift from person to person). If you choose to follow my advice, tips, try out my techniques or recommendations, and you for some reason are injured, no responsibility will be taken.

Certain health circumstances warrant different nutritional needs, so before making any drastic changes to the way you eat, chat with your doctor or a good, qualified nutritionist.

Exercise disclaimer:

The exercises and workouts I post on this website are routines that I actually do. Largely, I design them for myself, and share them online so that they may inspire others to get off their butt and start moving in a results driven way too. But don’t mistake me as your personal trainer. I can’t possibly know your medical history, or current physical limitations. So like I’ve already said, you need to make your own decisions on what exercises are right for your body, rather than taking what I share here as a one size fits all gospel. It’s not, so no responsibility will be taken for liable or injury sustained while exercising at your home, in the gym, in the park or anywhere. It’s your body and you need to be the one responsible for it.

So remember, before making any drastic changes to the way exercise, you should check with your doctor and fitness professional.

Use of a feedyourawesomemachine recipes on another site:

Well, let me start out by saying that you can’t simply cut and paste a recipe from my site into your own. That violates standard copyright. But…If you rewrite the recipe in your own words, you can reproduce on of my recipes on your site. But there’s a catch- I’ll let you do this ONLY if you show respect by:

  • Clearly giving me credit as the original creator of the dish by saying something like “adapted from feedyourawesomemachine.com”.
  • Using your own photo. Sorry, but you can’t use one of my photos on your site. Cook the dish, and take your own photos… it’s really only fair.

So if you’re happy to rewrite the recipe, clearly credit this website as the creator of the recipe, and use your own photos, then be my guest.

Post reproduction:

All articles here are created by me, and are a combination of hard research, and of course personal opinion. They are therefore my intellectual property and according to standard copyright laws, you cannot reproduce any of my articles on your own website. Of course, if a topic interests you enough that you wish to build on my arguments on your own site, do so, but just remember to include attribution and a link back to feedyourawesomemachine.com.

Offended by an image, or something I’ve written?

I’m sorry; really I am, because I don’t intend to offend anyone. But this blog is full of my personal thoughts and opinions, and it’s only expected that these will occasionally differ from the personal thoughts and opinions of others. If it’s something drastic, let me know, I might not even be aware of it myself. But just to be crystal clear, I do not intentioned to “malign any religion, ethnic group, club, organization, company, or individual,” or anyone or thing and will not be held for libel for anything that I say or display.

External links:

I often post links to sites that I think will be of interest to you, the reader. But sometimes I make mistakes, and may publish an inaccurate link to some irrelevant or obscene site that I really don’t intend on linking to. If this happens, please let me know so I can fix it. Likewise, URLs and domains change hands over time, and I therefore can’t be sure that the linked site will actually link to the page I originally intended. So, no responsibility will be taken for whatever is at the end of a link. But as I said, if you find something strange, let me know so I can change it. And, I definitely don’t take responsibility for any site that happens to link back to me.

Comments:

What is said by commenters on my site is the sole responsibility of the commenter, and  I will not be held liable for anything anyone says in the commends, nor the laws that they break in any country through content, implication or intent. The statements made by other people in the comments area of my site do not in any way represent my beliefs, or the beliefs of feedyourawesomemachine.com.

A note to commenters:

While I love a good debate, if you don’t play nice in the comments, then your profanity & inappropriate comments will be deleted and you may be banned. If I deem appropriate, I reserve the right to edit and delete any comments for any reason.

While I do my best to reply to your questions, due to the finite number of hours in the day, and the requisite number of sleeping hours, I cannot guarantee that I will answer every one of yours. But if you don’t get an answer from me, you’re likely at the very least to glean some wisdom from the other commenters. But if the blog post is over 30 days old, you probably won’t get a reply from anyone, so by writing your comments on the most recent posts, you’ll increase the likelihood of your questions being answered.

Language issues:

I write in English, and I therefore will not be held responsible for the translation or interpretation of content into other languages. Additionally, I am aware that bad grammar can sometimes change the intent of a statement, so I hold myself and my site free from prosecution for bad grammar and punctuation. And please, if you’re a grammar purist, know that even though these things fascinate me, I make as many mistakes as the next common man / woman. And because I endeavour to write the way I talk, the grammar may not be “true and correct” as one would find in a grammatical text book, but will often instead represent the more genuine, colloquial speech.

International and Cultural Laws:

I am not responsible for defamatory statements bound to government, religious, or other laws from the reader’s country of origin.

Affiliate link disclosure:

I use affiliate links on feedyourwaesomemachine.com. This means that if you click on a link from my site and buy a book on amazon for example, I get a small commission for referring the sale. But this is not how I make my living, nor would I try to (and I’d probably have to move back in with my folks). I include affiliate links ONLY when I guenuinely feel that a product is high quality, good value and of legitimate benefit to the readers. And of course, I’ll only link to products that I myself have tested out, and use on a frequent basis. The tiny commissions I make from these sales take a small chip out of the costs of running this site. But in saying this, not all outbound links on this site are affiliate links.
